What is the difference between a "public" and a "private" neighborhood?

The content and membership of an i-Neighbors group, including discussions, documents, and profile information, can only be viewed by other members of that group. Any member of i-Neighbors can join a "public" group. However, when someone attempts to join a "private" group, their membership request must first be approved by a local group administrator. Administrators receive an email notifying them of pending membership requests. Administrators can view a message from those who want to join, review profile information, respond with a custom message, and approve or deny the request. Individuals can make multiple requests to join a group based on feedback from group administrators, such as requests for address verification. Administrator in both public and private groups can remove users and content.
